Sn95 rear end in foxbody. For the front you need to notch your sn95 spindles if not already done and find the cobramach1 calipers rotorspads. We are running a set of the s197 wheels on the car with sn95 control arms up front and sn95 rear as well. The sn95 spindles will increase your track width by 0120 31mm per side. My question can i strip everything off of the rear end and axles and use it on my housing. Stock 4 lug stuff is mostly 157 wheels with 20mm offset. Id have to look at the back of one of the wheels.
The sn95 axles are a 078 198mm wider per side. 96 mustang gt rear 373 gears 95 explorer carrier spider gears clutches moser fox. Building this gt sn95 axle for my ford fairmont. Btw the new edge 99 04 housing is 75 longer on each side for a total of 15 wider track. Dont have any pics of them on the rear just on the front. The irs assemblys are the same width as the solids in the 99 04 also btw.
If you go with the fox rear end you will have to buy 31 spline axles for a 94 98 car since they are longer than the fox axles. I can get what ever i need. Brake booster master cylinder and proportioning valve ect. 2014 factory gt wheels are 188 with 40mm offset. Fwiw im going to try 373s when i build my rear end next year also. You will of course have to swap over your brake caliper brackets and dust shields.
Sn95 rear end swap into fox a popular swap among fox body owners is the 94 98 rear end swap. Think they ar 45mm offset. Should work in any of the foxbody platforms. I have found a 95 or 96 mustang with rear disc brakes and i would like to have the rear disc set up on my 91 fox body. This swap has gained popularity due to its low cost and less work involved. The rear youll need the axle plates from a mach1cobra anti moan brackets caliper brackets and rotorspads.
The fox body housing is the same as an sn95 housing but the sn95 axles are a bit longer. While this may seem like the way to go this also extends your wheelbase by 34 on each side. Yes it will work 94 98 rear ends are the same width as fox body rear ends the only difference is in the axles. Not to mention oil and a helper for bleeding the system. 1999 factory gt wheels are 178 with 30mm offset.
