Ryobi stud finder review. The ryobi esf5000 stud detector is perfect for locating whole studs behind your wall. The ryobi whole stud detector or ryobi whole stud finder as im sure some will call it has green led lights to indicate the entire range of the stud. Read our review of the ryobi es5500 stud finder to find out. It detects studs up to 3 4 inches into drywall. The way it works is the same as most stud finders works but it connects to your phone and gives you a display on your screen of what its finding and how things are going. The led lights allow the entire stud to be found as opposed to just the edge or center.
Its a nice feature if its accurate since many stud sensors simply alert the user to the presence of a stud with a bit of ambiguity about its edges. Its a nice concept.
