As is typical with smart switches you need the neutral wire in both locations to keep the smart stuff always on. Three way switches are always used in pairs and include special wiring connections.
Wiring A 3 Way Switch
Do both switches need to be 3 way. This may be a better solution for some though more expensive. You could also use 2 smart switches in the 3 way locations and not wire them as a 3 way but give one of them full electrical control of the light and just power the other one up to mirror the behavior of the master via z wave.
