Tach not working correctly in this video im just going over some common issues that people have with tachometer function when swapping an ls engine into another vehicle. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the tachometer from the dashboard it is attached to.

Autometer tach not reading correctly. Autometer full sweep digital stepper motor gauges will not perform a full sweep. Getting the led display replaced will fix the problem quite easily. Engine tach goes to zeroengine goes to idle on 87 gt. My tach is reading low by about 2000 rpm at upper end and 200 low at idle. Check all your connections. I noticed that the rpm limiter was kicking in had a 6000 rpm pill in the 6420 box but the autometer tach was reading about 4000 rpm. Turn off the engine and prepare to remove the tachometer if the reading is non existent or clearly not accurate. Checked the rpm with my analyzer tach and it was reading 6000 when the limiter kicked in. And the bouncing problem may have something to do with the or connection. Ls swap tachometer problems. Evidently you can set the type as crank or an alternate setting and then also reshi7 and reslo7 parameter settings will get you within 3 accuracy or so. Autometer tach not reading correctly.
In my old stang the battery was quitting on me and when it was low on juice the tach would start flipping out. If you notice that a tachometer is not showing any reading on its display the reason might be the failure of the led display. 2006 mustang gt ignition coil feed wire for tach driver location. My autometer tach is off too. Disconnect the boats battery from the boat wiring if the boat runs with one using a crescent wrench to remove power wires from the battery terminals.
