Being a little smaller than the 38 hose it works great for little kicker motors and sailboat outboard engines. 38 inch is the thickest diameter hose youll see around.

I think you want the barb size to match your hose size id either way. This means that 6an hose will not introduce any appreciable flow restriction in a fuel system designed around 38 od rigid tubing. 3an hose has the same id as a 316 tube. The 58 hose will reduce water pressure more if you have really high pressure water supply. The an numbers refer to the tubing od in sixteenths of an inch. You can get it clear red or blue. Would you think twice about jamming the 516 hose onto the 38 barbed hose adapter. 516 inch is not used as much as the other 2.
